The Sultan's Mare is the moniker that stuck to the mythological Jezreel Valley Railway* that linked Haifa and Damascus in the early 20th century. The railway was a breakthrough, shattering engineering and technological records of those days. It played a key role in the history of the Zionist Jewish settlement in Eretz Israel and the Valley. The Jezreel Valley visitor centre is housed in the old station in Kfar-Yehoshua that was renovated by the Society for Preservation of Israel Heritage Sites.
Together with the historical railway station it offers a journey to the past through a fascinating exhibition with authentic artifacts.
* This was the Hebrew name for the Haifa-Zemach section of the Hejaz Railroad (H.R.) "Hicaz Demir Yolu" in Turkish
